Corporate History
Malley Industries began as a family business in 1979, but its roots actually go back many years before that.
Company founder, the late A.J. Malley, was an entrepreneur at heart. He always had some kind of business venture on the go while working for the railroad.
A family vacation to Expo '67 in Montreal found the family of four in less than desirable accommodations. Upon arriving back home, A.J. designed and build a truck camper in his basement. When spring came, he and his young son, Terry, had to dismantle the whole project so they could get it out of the house and re-assembled it outside.
The first camper was eventually sold and another was built. Before long, there were orders to build one after another. For many years, the business operated in a part time capacity out of a 24 x 44 foot garage in the family's back yard.
Then, in 1979, A.J., his wife Maudie, and son, Terry opened a small manufacturing facility in Moncton, New Brunswick, focusing on building truck caps, campers and doing van conversions for the recreational market.
Since then, the company has grown and broadened its scope of capabilities to include the manufacture of ambulances and other emergency vehicles, as well as adaptive mobility conversions for persons with physical challenges. In July 2003 the company expanded to its current location in Dieppe, New Brunswick.
In just 31 years, the company's annual output has swelled to over 900 custom vehicle modifications.
In December, 2010, we moved to our current facility, expanding our total floor space to nearly 100,000 square feet.
